Banners of some of the past and present
Congregations of the Wangaratta Parish
This is a compilation of banners from the various churches which make up our Parish. It was put together by Eileen Dinning and is displayed in the foyer of the Wangaratta Uniting Church in Rowan Street. Below is an explanation of each banner.
Moyhu- The cross with the river flowing through our farmland.
Appin St - The Word of Life and the Tree of Life bringing the fruits of the spirit to the world.
Ed - The people of God looking to the light of Christ as they struggle out of darkness.
Whitfield - Depicts spiritual growth in our valley between the mountains.
Emmanuel - The cross in the centre of ever growing circles of outreach.
Eldorado - We lift our eyes to the hills from whence comes our help, giving thanks to God for the streams and the gold which brought the pioneers who planted the almond trees.
Milawa - The cattle on a thousand hills are His, but with the vines, are ours to tend.
Yarrunga - The light of Christ coming from the cross into the world.
Everton - Christ, our bridge towards God, with water for life, trees for growth and mountains for inspiration.
Greta - Healing and wholeness through the Gospel.
